A Great Vacation Place

Hello out there! Anyone ready for a super vacation in a tropical paradise close to home? volcanoes, mountains, beaches, ecological cloud forests, ziplining, rafting, etc, etc.

Within 2 1/2 hours flying time from Houston or Miami and sometimes at fares below $100 is our paradise of Costa Rica in Central America.

Safe, inexpensive, welcoming people, great bus service, and some of the healthiest food in the world. Unlike Mexico where you must be very careful of drinking the water and eating the food because of Montezumas revenge, you can eat or drink in any soda you find along the roadways and never have problems.

Surfers come for the amazing surf found particularly along the Nicoya Peninsula and Central coast, beach lovers come because of the warm tropical waters, nature lovers come because of the many ecological type surroundings found, volcanists come because of the many volcanos both active and inactive, and retirees come because of the great property values, inexpensive living, and wonderful climates.

Whether you just want to sit on the terrace of a vacation villa in Costa Rica relaxing with the views of the ocean, mountains, and valleys, climbing up a mountainside looking for exotic foliage, birds, and animals, ziplining in the cloud forests, surfing the waves, or lying on the beach, Costa Rica has something for everyone.

One of the things that always intrigues vacationers, are the different climates and great weather found in Costa Rica. You can often travel only a few kilometers, and find a completely different climate. At the coastal level it is always very warm to hot and humid, but at the 2,000 meter level you often need a sweater, particularly in the evenings.

The elevation that many choose to vacation in, is around 1,000 meters where the average mean temperature year round is 72 to 74 degrees, and this is also the elevation around San Ramon de Alajuela that most retirees choose to live in because there is no need for heat or air conditioning. I say this because many who come to Costa Rica for the first time, often come back realizing not only what a great place it is for their vacation, but also their retirement.

Traveling in Costa Rica is easy but care must be exercised in driving as many "Tico" men as Costa Ricans refer to themselves, are macho when they are behind the wheel of a vehicle. Passing on double yellow lines, curves, grades, etc. Spanish is spoken but there are very few language problems because English is taught in the school system and many Costa Ricans speak some English.

Finding a country that can offer as much diversity as Costa Rica that is safe, inexpensive, close to the U.S. and with great climates, is almost impossible. Why not plan for a vacation in Costa Rica to check out the many diverse activities that are offered here. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
